Olga Pasichnyk

Opera star

Olga Pasichnyk was born in Ukraine in Rivne. Since 1992 she has been a soloist of the Warsaw Opera House. The Ukrainian singer performed the leading parts in the operas of both classical European composers such as  Pergolesi, Gluck, Handel, Mozart, Weber, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, and modern ones as well as those from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States.

Olga Pasichnyk is the winner of many international competitions – s’Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands, 1994), Helsinki (Finland, 1999), and Queen Elizabeth (Belgium, 2000). The opera star has twice received the prestigious Frederick Prize (Poland), as well as the Orpheus (Poland), the Golden Cross (Poland), and the Hiolski’s (Poland) prizes.

In 2005, Olga Pasichnyk was recognized as the best opera singer of the season for the role of Almirar (Handel, "Rinaldo"), and in 2009-2010 for the role of "Roxana" (Szymanowski, King Roger). In 2006, she received the Munich Opera Festival prize. In 2011, she got the annual prize of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and in 2012 - the officer cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.
